Hmm, looks like a SD neck pickup, what's the humbucker in the bridge position?
Late Winter/early Spring '73 4001.
Must be the Jetglo that's producing that tone!

It must be! I've tried those pickups. They get two thumbs down from me! It's not that they sounded bad, they killed the Rick tone.jps wrote:Must be the Jetglo that's producing that tone!
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!

Given the guy likes Ricks, could this be a fretless Rick on this song?

Can we have everything louder than everything else?

The "bridge" or "chorus" on that sounds nothing at all lIke Hemispheres Overture. No, nothing at all.geofio wrote:This is Gus Fjelstrom from the band Maximum Indifference, check his tone out.
Good stuff, though. After all there are only 12 notes.
Well, given that there are no vocals, it's not a song. But, I'd guess not a FL Rick for reasons I can't fully explain. Maybe if it has rounds and a fair bit of compression; then again, still maybe not. It sounds more woody to me than a finished board would.jps wrote:Given the guy likes Ricks, could this be a fretless Rick on this song?

No its is not a fretless ric, Gus only has one rickenbacker bass, he now plays electric double bass, he has recorded several tracks just using uprights. the other pickup in the bridge position is a seymour duncan. cheers
