How does this offer seem to you? Scroll down to the white 4003s5.

Thats a price I'd pay for one in dead mint condition. This bass has some obvious wear on the forarm bout.

If Im not mistaken, this bass was on ebay about a month ago.

Yep ... I think that one was on ebay twice this year ... last time is sold for $1000 or $1100 ... I sold one similar to that for $1300 ... I would say the price is too high ...

Thanks. So it would be pointless to call him with an offer more in line with what you're mentioning, say $1300? I know Mike Parks has a Jetglo for $1995 and it looks like new. In fact, it still has the "Made in USA" decal on the pickguard.

some of the ric dealers sell the s5 basses for a few hundred more than you see them go for on ebay ... you can try to offer them less ... but they are in business so they have to make a profit ...

The 4003s5 is an interesting bass ... the 90's models have overwound bridge pickups that are hot and thick ... the 80's models have a bridge pickup that is more like a 4 string 4003 pickup ...

I really like my 4 to 5 conversion basses I get the triangle inlays and the binding and the regular high gain pickups ...
