I just completed the "final" layout of the 12-page 4003 chapter, a major hurdle. It is the first chapter I've done from scratch with the InDesign program. The other 50 pages or so that I've finished were all based on the layouts I created in the previous software (iWork Pages). There are three "Identifying Features" pages in the chapter to show the "field marks" of the current flagship as it changed over the years of production. I show early-, mid-, and current-production models with an '85 Red BT, an '04 Montezuma Brown, and a 2012 Ruby that I borrowed for a photo shoot last Saturday from Wade's Guitar Shop in Milwaukee. Rick artists shown in the chapter are Al Cisneros of Sleep (and Om), Marlon Deppen of Seattle's Alabaster, our own Amy Humphrey of Clatter, Bryce Soderberg of Lifehouse, and Paul Wilson of Snow Patrol. Also included are spotlights on the Shadow and the 75th Anniversary issue of the 4003. Full steam ahead!
