New Strings, Different Beast!!!!
After researching with fellow forumites and speaking with Chris at POTR. Put a set of Thomastik Infeld JF344s on my 4003 Fireglo. Wow it sounds fantastic and now completely a different beast from my 4003 Jetglo strung with Roto,s RS66LD. I know some might say well what did you expect flats vs rounds but holy **** its unbelievable. So now when I get my next RIC Mapleglo probably I will need an excuse to justify why I need 3...Who am I kiddin I wont need to justify it in my little mind.
And when I get my fourth.......OMG!!!!

Oh, it's EASY to justify more Ricks.
Let's see:
Strings - Flats/Rounds (we won't even talk about differences between types/brands)
Fretted/fretless
4001/4003/4004 (yeah, there's more here too)
Pickups: Toasters, horseshoes, hi-gains, HB-1s
So, getting ALL combinations of the above gives you justification for having a minimum of 108 (I think)...
And then there's all of the different colors, trim options, etc...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

.
If I win it there will be substantially more Rickenbacker basses in my new mansion than there are here in this little shack!
First on the list will be a Mapleglow 4005.

There's a $100,000,000 Lotto draw on tonight here in Oz, for which I have several tickets.Oh, it's EASY to justify more Ricks.
