Wow, Jim, I've never tried that on either of my Rick 12-strings! I guess I'm so afraid of the hassle of replacing strings that I almost never bend notes on my 12'ers (that is, except when I'm doing the solos to The Byrds' "Why" or "I Know My Rider (I Know You Rider)," and even then, I only bend in half-steps.) As the clip shows, Rickenbackers can be used for anything and everything.

I believe there were only six strings on that guitar, even though it's a 12 string. I didn't like the solo much. It just meandered without much resolution. I think guitar solos should have a beginning, middle and end.
