Hmm, that's a much more sanitary place than I imagined these ideas came from.

Reminds me of a '60s Hagstrom II Bass:

Mmmmmmmm. That one would certainly make a nice companion for my minty-fresh '69 8-string.

Its not real hateful, just not my cup of tea, it might be a nice bass, but I wouldnt give it a second look in a store. They should really lose the vintage headpiece, if its Gibson's attempt at blending vintage with modern, they really missed the boat in my opinion.

The new nonreverse Bird seems to tick most of my boxes! All mahogoney,set-neck,34" scale. I would like to try one out, maybe next time i am in Memphis, I'll go downtown to see if they have one. (Minor quibbles...not crazy about either of the finish colors offered, and why did they offset the tone control,it looks like an afterthought)
JB,had to check out what the Midtown bass was,so,basically an updated 335-type bass, looks pretty nice, but i got my hollow body bass needs covered now..... 8)

Not quite as a 335 is maple-poplar-maple, whereas the Midtown is routed from a solid piece of mahagony to which a maple top is added, a bit like Ric makes their semi-hollows but then in an up side down process. Midtown bass is a ltd.ed. and won't be around for much longer!

I did notice it was made a bit differently, but what i was referring to was the shape, basically the EB2 of old,and never one of my favorites. This one, with the different construction, woods, and pickup changes might be a really nice sounding bass, though.

Nothing a good can of spray paint can't fix! I'd prefer to see two P90s on it, though, maybe even three of them. 8)

Agreed, I've never been one for mismatched pickups on guitars.
