The Fireglo helps to hide the repairs very nicely.
It was a hard choice given that it was Mapleglo, but the
imperfections really would have stood out.

It was a stripped carcass. There are some pics in the register. I set some other parts on for look.
It was MG, but it had some issues.
DiMarzio J Bass pups were in it and the screws went through the back...ugh!
A chunk of wood was missing from behind the peghead with a piece glued in...
The neck was lifting from routing the cavity deeper, as well as all ready being iffy from being so close to the rim.The position of the cavity was part
of how I determined that it is an earlier one. On the few examples in the register, the neck pup cavity is about 1/4" further from the rim as well as a binding
end cap on the finger board. This one doesn't have the end cap, and the cavity is scary close to the rim.
It could even be a '69 for all I know, but I promised the owner of the one '69 that I wouldn't assume mine being earlier LOL!

So a few things all fixable in the right hands. (Jack Pimemtel in Puyallup WA.)

As best that I can tell, 21 fretters ended about March '71 and the binding on the end of the fretboard showed up between Jan & Feb of '71.

IMO, that '74 should have a note that the 21st fret was added.

...jepp, I count Jingle-Jangle guilty as he installed it and myself guilty if it is not mentioned properly.

Agreed. Not that I want to rain on any one's parade, but since that one is not a true 21r, it should not be listed as such.
It should rightly be a "Mod".
