325 C58 Truss Rod
I found a new 325 C58, never sold, at a local shop. It has a broken truss rod. I can get it at a decent price, but I am not sure whats involved with replacing the truss rod. Would this work have to be performed at the factory? Any idea how much it may cost? Thanks
Mike,
I thought the truss rod was broken on a 325v59 I had. I took it out to Steve Soest and the way I saw him check it was he removed the neck pup (two screws) and he pushed a screwdriver up the from the pickup side hole and out popped the threaded rod in the trc cavity (wasn't broken after all). If you're sure yours is broken, I think you would remove the old one (after removing the trc nut and washer at the top) by pushing it down and out the pickup side and replace it back from the same side. If you have to do it, I remember checking with Ric customer service and the short scale truss rod was not expensive.
