Just last night I had a dream that in an interview Gene Simmons said he records with a 4003 as his "secret weapon" but doesn't use it on stage because it doesn't go with his stage costume . the Rickenbacker I can understand, but why in the world I was dreaming about Gene Simmons being interviewed is beyond me. I'm a huge KISS fan, but still I was hoping the Demon was talking to someone else in "See You In Your Dreams"

As sacreligios as this may seem every now and then I dream I have a 3 tone sunburst tele with white binding and while pick guard. Hey, I don't pick out my dreams. But if I had a favorite non-Ric guitar it would probably be a tele. I have a strat but she's a b17ch.

My most recent Rickenbacker dream was a nightmare for certain.

In the dream I acquired a gorgeous vintage mapleglo Ric 12 from a pensioner at a retirement home. When I played it the sound was so PERFECT it resonated through my whole body, I mean it was visceral. I can still hear that sound...

Next scene: a vicious serial killer has cornered me -but instead of murder he cuts off both my hands at the wrist.

NOT A GOOD DREAM

My only dream along those lines was years ago, I dreamt I was walking with Pete Townshend through his house, and he was showing me his guitars hanging along the walls.

I read the "Met anybody famous?" thread here and discovered some forum members have had real life experiences similar to that.

Oh well, one can dream, right?

I had a dream that I had a bunch of really gorgeous Rick basses, with really great figured maple. Something like this:

Oh wait, that's not a dream... Or at least I hope it's not...
Well, actually, I suppose it is a dream... :D
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I won't guess at the psychological import (or portents) of the dream but I will say this -I couldn't feel my hands. They were gone.

Never had a Rick dream, but I did dream about a Telecaster not long ago, around the time I bought my Squier Classic Vibe Tele, which is the best one I have ever owned.

I had a doozy of a Rick-dream last night. I dreamed I was the "rhythm bass player" in Motorhead and was working on "I'll Be Your Sister" with Lemmy right before a gig.It was also Lemmy's Birthday and I gave him a Montezuma Brown 4003 .then I woke up.

I'm sure I have had dreams playing one of my Rickenbacker instruments, but I don't remember them.

I've had loads of dreams about Rics, especially last year when I really wanted to get one after having had one years ago. I remember selling a black 330 in in 1994/1995 and have often dreamt of that one over the years..in my dreams I suddenly discover I've still got it and haven't sold it! I remember last year dreaming that I was walking down the street with two 330 fireglows and was really proud...strange as fireglow is not a colour I like.

Maybe you are subconsciously starting to like Fireglo... Mapleglo did little to nothing for me until I bought a Mapleglo 360/12. Every time I look at it I find a beautiful nuance I hadn't noticed before.

Last night I dreamt that I was playing bass for Dio! I was using my '79 'Harley Bass'

Image

It was actually pretty spot-on to being what my bass looks like in real life - not an odd subconscious mutation, except the knobs had these cool red lights around the base of them, sort of like brake lights.

Same with RJD himself - he looked about the way he did right before he died.

So we start the show - big loud intro! Lots of fanfare and hard rocking. It was some Black Sabbath song that was actually from the pre-Dio phase, oddly enough. The spotlights are on us, it's a big arena show with the flash-pots and various pyrotechnics and whatnot... then the lighting dims down onstage enough so that we can see the audience, ...and there's about 8 people out there... scattered about in various seats throughout the theater - funny that they didn't even bother to just come up front. We see that the place is practically vacant, and Dio shrugs and says to us: "Well, what do you think? Should we even bother?" And we all agreed to go ahead and play in spite of the dismal turnout. "Sure. Why not? We're here, everything's already set up, F it."

And so it went.
