What is the cure for the addiction! No. 6 on its way.

Post by Colonel Sanders »

I finally got my checkerboard fix. I pulled the trigger on one of the 2 1972 4001 available on eBay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-RICKENBACK ... 7675.l2557

Quite "Roger Gloveresque", minus the slanted pickups.

Sean's 72 was also very tempting but outside what was possible to negociate with the missie with respect to the typical "new gear negociation".

Nice one Jeff and a genuine looking bass too.
Price wise I don't think a 72 to early 73 period bass is going to stay at these prices for long, there's just so much for the money here, checker, MOP, toasters etc etc.

Jeff: The cure is to face the world without these instruments. Ship them to me and I will make sure you aren't exposed to them. Slowly but surely your withdrawal will subside as you find other activities to fill the void. Not much fun but you will be over it. But for now congratulations.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Very nice purchase Jeff. Congrats. For me I,ve always found its better to ask for forgiveness than permission  Well at least when buying a new instrument.

Nice stuff Colonel! Great vibe and mojo on #6. 8)

As for me, I'm doing my best to hold tight at #15, my recently purchased JG. I've even ordered a checkered pickguard for it, to denote I've crossed the finish line.

Not likely . . .
Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .
