Ric dealers in Dallas or Austin...

Post by konrad »

I'm going to be over there in Decembe and specifically, I'd like to try a 620. Any chance of finding one in a store?

Don't know about Dallas but you're highly unlikely to find a new one at an Austin dealer. Guitar Resurrection doesn't stock them, Bass Emporium doesn't stock guitars, and I've never seen a 620 at any Guitar Center.

Austin Vintage Guitar does have a used Fireglo 620 in stock right now, I think it's late 1990s. Not likely to sell anytime soon since he has it priced higher than new. But at least you could try it out. He has no website but he's on South Lamar in the same center as Hennig's Heart of Texas Music.

Konrad welcome to Rickenbacker Forum. I know you were looking for a 620 in Dallas or Austin. However, on Friday, I came across a midnight blue 620 in Houston. Here's a link to the dealer's site.

Cool. Thanks a lot.

What do you think about the new 620s? A friend keeps telling me this is the guitar I'm looking for. I play everything, from REM to the Stones, but I do play a lot of blues as well.

Can it handle it?

My 610 with high gains did well with the blues through a DC5 Boogie and a Fender Blues Jr.
