double truss rod adjustment

Post by bowser2533 »

Been trying to get the neck as straight as possible on my 360/12. I recently ran into a problem and need some advice. The low e side of the neck is perfect and i have plenty of adjustment left in that truss rod. The problem is that on the high e side i still have about a 012 relief that i cant get out. I ran out of adjustment on the truss rod the adjustment nut is bottomed out. I probably only need about another 1/4 turn to get it. My question is can i take the nut of and put a small sleeve or washer on the rod and reinstall the adjusting nut. Is this a good idea? Any advice out there on how to fix this problem. Thanks Gary

Which type of rods do you have, what year is the guitar?

BTW, this would probably get more response in the Vibrola section.
