I had buy a RIC 4003 2 years ago (Oct '99). I would like to know if basses built in these years are good struments like old RIC or nor.
Does the pickups are the same of Chris, how is the way to obtain as similar as possible the sound of Chris.
If I replace thats pickups with other two like for ex. Sayumour Duncar.... Good? Or I will lost the RIC sound? Which are the main difference between the 4001 and the 4003..
Thank You!

I've been told that the differences between 4001 and 4003 are truss rods; being the 4003 easier to adjust. As well as your 4003, a Ric is ALWAYS a good instrument.(Unless they start making them in some sweatshop in East Juhunga.)
As far as the pickups, (and I assume you're talking about Chris Squire), no they're not the same unless you purchased a Chris Squire Signature Model which I believe is not being made anymore. What you could do is purchase a Horseshoe Pickup and a Toaster Pickup from a Ric dealer and modify your bass that way, or purchase a Ric with those pickups on already.
