I just miss on a very nice Alembic Distiller that went on eBay for quite cheap. The positive aspect is that it was the trigger that allowed me to waive the wife aproval process in case of ''insane deals'' on eBay. So the next time I will be there...
Cheers
I love the Distillates! Quite a deal IMO, given what Alembics typically sell for.

Mine is an '83 in 32" scale, and it smokes.

After further investigation all now seems ok, I think all it was that in its newness everything was very tight and the knurled screws were very hard to turn to raise the damper pad. After a few operations it's getting to move more freely, I might even put some WD40 on the threads to make it even easier but I'm reasonably happy with it now and am glad the mute pad didn't need to be cut down at all.
