Should this be posted as "stolen" in the Ric register so it's easier to keep tabs on it to compare to auction listings etc?

Is this the refinisher I am thinking?
Oh, that guy?
Good luck, John! I hope you can get to the bottom of this and get your 4005 back.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

If it was shipped by email maybe the bass got stuck in a server somewhere.

And, if it is the refinisher we are thinking it is, I don't think he would do such a thing as receive the bass and not contact whomever he was supposed to once getting it, he is not that crooked. He had a minor run in and things escalated, but I don't recall him ever stealing an instrument that was sent to him for work to be done on it. If he wasn't made aware of it being sent to him maybe he never actually received the 4005, it may not have gotten that far.

That thing HAS to show up somewhere....and the way we scour ebay, craigslist, etc....it'll show up.
Yes, I'm watching ebay too!

Agreed, I believe he never got it, and I don't think it was every actually shipped to him. I never got a tracking number or any other confirmation of shipping.

I would appreciate that, but I'm not clear on how to do that? Would also appreciate any advice on how to report this to the police, not sure if I do that with my local folks, or the department in Chicago? Get with me in email if you could offer advice/experience there please?

It's easy to do in the Register, just open up the record with your bass, look at the line along the bottom that says:

RETURN TO THE RICKENBACKER REGISTER | ADD ITEM TO COMPARISON ENGINE | EDIT | IMAGES MANAGER

Click on "EDIT"
Then click the 5th check box from the bottom marked "Stolen", and then click the "Submit" button.

If you don't have it registered, just click the "Stolen" button when you do register it. If it's in the Register, but not "owned" by you, send a note to Peter (admin) or Gil (gibsonlp) and they will get it sorted for you...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Not a case of a crooked person, but an individual who has met with several misfortunes and despite good intentions has not been able to deliver. We're working on it.
