My new Ric 360-12C63

Post by silvergp05 »

I just received my new 360-12C63in Fireglo last week and it exceeded my expectations. One stroke on that G string pair says it all. Within minutes, I 'found' many Beatle songs that were actually played on George's 12 string and Byrds songs that I never tried on a 6 string. Not only is it beautiful to look at but it feels so good in my hands. I chased many 360-12V64's on eBay but couldn't make it happen. I'm not sure what the differences between these models are but I'll enjoy this baby for many years to come.

Welcome and congrats on the C63.

There are some differences between the V64 and C63. I think the top is X-braced and thinner, the fretboard radius is 7 1/2" versus 10" and the toasters are short pole/ long pole. It also has the cool red fretmarkers on the edge of the neck.

When you are ready for a string change, try some TI flatwounds. Pick of the Ricks makes a set up for the 12 strings. Definitely worth the $$.

You know now I know why I was feeling a similarity to my '57 re-issue Stratocaster. The common denominator is the 7 1/4" or therabouts radius neck. I find the high curvature actually makes the fingers fit better around it since it follows the natural curve of the fingers and when you get older like me, they are always in a more of relaxed state. I chased the V64 for a long time and could never find one at a good price. Now I'm curious, I'd like to try a V64 out and compare it to the C63.

I just love staring at it on a guitar stand....it's like the Mona Lisa of guitars! I've had 4 Rics in my lifetime and this one is the best.
