My wire touches the bottom of the spring, but the top of the spring touches the new rubber bezel....so the spring isn't actually touching the chrome surround? Is that a problem?

Hopefully the bolt will be touching the two, so it should be ok.

Personally I would move it to between the spring and the chrome surround, however it should be okay where it is.

Why not relocate it when you do your next string change?

I actually emailed Tube Ampology direct yesterday to see what they had to say.

I was advised that the method of fitting shown on their website is fine - I was told that because the grounding wire is making contact with the spring and the screw, and the screw is touching the chrome surround, all is good! :D
