the playing style has changed a lot along the years.... and most of bassists play with fingers...

I play with a pick and fingers and that mute and cover get in my until I remove them ... actually it gets in the way more when I play with a pick ...

The answer is: To each his own.
The question is: Why does this stupid "I hate the mute/The pickup cover gets in my way" thread keep coming up?

why ... because it gets in the way and it falls apart ...

and use a pick and fingers and thumb and a drumstick and whatever else you like to hit them strings ...

1.I like the handrest/pickup cover.
2.The mute does not get in my way.
3.I LOVE upside down 4001 C64 headstocks!

1.Those who don't like handrest/pickup covers can remove them or buy a 4004.
2.Those who don't like mutes can remove them or by a 4004.
3.Those who don't like upside down headstocks can buy a 4004, or a 4003.

See RIC makes something for EVERYBODY!
