Will a 660 pickguard fit a 360?

Post by bloodspoint »

I have a mid 90's 360/12 in Mapleglo. I was looking at some pics of old Rics, and it occurred to me that a gold pickguard would look really good against the maple. I found a set for a 660, and they _look_ identical, but I don't know if maybe the size is different or something.
I'd like to vintage up the look of this thing with a gold pickguard, stove knobs, and some toasters.

Thanks,

Sean

IIRC, they are not the same size. Pickguardian can make you perfect pickguards, and he offers several different shades of gold so you can get just want you want.

Pickguardian (http://www.pickguardian.com) has templates for the various different models that you can print out and compare. You'll find that while they look similar there are some important differences -- the 660 lower guard is a bit skinnier, the holes are drilled in different places, and the part of the upper guard that goes between the pickups is a different width.

However, here's the good news: Tony at Pickguardian does first-class work and for $60 will make you a vintage gold pickguard that will fit your 360 perfectly for $60.

The bad news is that finding a matching gold TRC is going to set you back ... they are hard to find and priced accordingly.

Ugh. Hadn't even thought about the TRC.

Tony can paint your existing TRC to match the pickguards, many folks here have had this done and it looks good.

Jeff,
You are talking about painting "raised letter" TRC's I assume.
Has he done the silkscreen plexy's in gold too?

Raised letter only, AFAIK.
