Scratch X and Zymol or equivalent in the UK?

Post by henry5 »

Hi everyone,

As the subject says I'm looking to buy some Scratch X and Zymol, or their current equivalent, in the UK. Where do I go? Any ideas?

I did ask this once a few years back IIRC, but never got chance to get them and can't find the thread. Apologies for asking again but my babies could do with a good clean!

For Zymol, you can check here for a reseller:
http://www.zymol.co.uk/resellers.aspx

And for McGuiars products (then "new" version of Scratch-X is called Swirl-X, at least in the U.S.A.):

The Zymol is good but I would be a bit concerned about Scratch X 2.0. It is a bit more aggressive in my experience than the original. Please check this out with the Curmudgeon before you use it on your prized possession.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Yes, the new version of the original formula is called "Swirl-X." I believe PW said a suitable replacement is "Nu-Finish Scratch Doctor," But I have no idea if that's available in the UK/Europe...

That's what I remember. IIRC he also said, "Kit Scratch-Out" would be second best to, "Nu-Finish Scratch Doctor".

Google "Zymol UK" and you will get more pages of Zymol retailers than you can imagine.

They changed the formula for Zymol not too long ago. It still works but the consistency is more watery and it's not as nice to work with. :( I have a bottle of the vintage stuff that I've been hoarding for a special occasion.

Thanks people, much appreciated!

BTW, nothing wrong with scratches - my two Rics are pretty old anyway - but every now and again everybody needs a little tlc (as opposed to a little trc).
