Look at what EVH did with a factory second Charvel body and Charvel neck that cost about $130 total, one PAF out of an ES-335, Schwinn bicycle paint, a '71 quarter dollar, a cut vinyl record for the control cover and some truck reflectors, and large eye hooks for strap buttons. He changed the game entirely. Plus if you distort a guitar enough can you really tell what model someone is playing if you cant see it?

myth...BUSTED! Many guitar players solo on ricks.

Tame Impala's frontman rocks the Elephant solo on his 335 JG:

Marvelous. It is hard to ignore the Elephant in the room. :)
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

It probably sat on the guitar - what did the singer do to his Rickie around the slash?

The mirror image of the pickguard - IMO it looks really cool. Not for everybody (and I am not doing that to my 360) but not a bad way to personalize it.

You can see it better in this vid. Kind of a strange paint job at this point (looks like seafoam or daphne in the light)...maybe it's phase 1 of some cool painting he's doing on the guitar?

Looks like paper glued to the guitar - the end of the slash is deformed by the paper getting loose? I think it's rather ridiculous. if he'd paint the whole däng guitar like Coldplay did I could at least feel it's a try at art, but this is just plain weird, imo.

Can't play blues, can't solo on a Ric?

Post by guitman »

How about a blues with 3 Ric guitars. slide & lead on Ric 450s and rhythm on a 360? I think we did pretty well on this...

Good bluesy tune there, Mike !! The Ricks sound great ! :) Nice bit there around the six-minute mark.

Gosh I remember KSAN, the Jive 95, back in the early 70s in San Fran when I used to live there. Used to be the greatest radio station. Then they went "country" format and I have no idea if its still around.
