I never really could see the point in those! Quite frankly, if you're clumsy in soldering or otherwise tinkering with your Ric, then you should leave it in the hands of the professionals!
Luckily my 4003 is so beaten up anyhow that I'm not bothered in the slightest - especially as I'm a rubbish solderer!

Well, if I'm reading it correctly, it isn't supposed to STAY on the bass...It's there as a protective layer while working on it to protect it from any kind of wayward tool marks or other accidents...it's a temporary cover as I see it. Am I wrong?vulcan_creedler wrote:Precisely!! WHY ?????johnallg wrote:My question - why?

That's how I understand it. I find a towel works just fine, fits every guitar/bass, and since I've already got a few doesn't cost a thing...pflash4001 wrote:Well, if I'm reading it correctly, it isn't supposed to STAY on the bass...It's there as a protective layer while working on it to protect it from any kind of wayward tool marks or other accidents...it's a temporary cover as I see it. There is no reason to ever be bored.

I would think that just the shape of it would violate RIC's trademark dress.

How can any normal person take the company seriously, if they had some intelligence they would be embarrassed to have the item in their shop

Hey, it doesn't have to make sense to get a patent on it:Sharknose79 wrote:OOoooo....
