Here's the finished result of an 8-to-6 pole bobbin conversion. A former lapsteel bobbin now fitted for 6 string guitar use. The bobbin was shortened by about 1/4 inch, and note the new radius of the pole tops. The coil no longer juts out of the sides of the bobbin, and has been rewound to 12k; the magnets freshly charged... wish I had a chance to hear this one before I sent it off! I would imagine that it's a bit of a rager.
