Good source for 4003 pickups?
Hello.
I am looking to replace the stock, non-adjustable neck pickup of my late 90's 4003 with the new model, with adjustable polepieces.
Do you gentlemen have a good source to recommend? Important: must be able to ship to Canada.
Thanks!

Pick Of The or any other North American dealer can ship to Canada.

POTR is out of stock, but thank you very much for the prompt answer, Joey.

Sound Me Out here in the UK usually carry them in stock, I know they sell to Europe and the US and assume Canada would be a possibility.

It looks like Mike Parks at The Rickenbacker Page still has some in stock. He can ship anywhere in the world...

I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

I buy all spare parts at my local dealer. He has to order them but gives a discount on parts similar to that on guitars. I don't understand how all these dealers get MSRP for spare parts.

I only wish that we got the same deals in the UK!!! MSRP for a neck hi gain is about $75 in the USA, whereas Rickysounds in the UK charge £125 GBP (approx $200 USD) that's almost three times the price!!!!!!ken_j wrote:I buy all spare parts at my local dealer. We get a real bum deal over this side of the pond, and there's a hell of a lot of greed out there too. Total Import duty is 27%, so I could just about understand a UK price of say 50% higher than the US price, but certainly not a price that is 270% of the US price!!!! Admittedly, Rosetti (the official UK importer) charge £80 GBP, but they are NEVER in stock! But even £80 GBP is still 170% of the US price.
Thank God for Ebay, and the occasionally good buy-it-now price, with fair shipping costs!

Yeah, I paid £ 140 for a new Toaster last year, I notice now they're almost £ 200!vulcan_creedler wrote:I only wish that we got the same deals in the UK!!! Funnily I also phoned Rosetti and they quoted me £ 65, until they realised I wasn't a retailer then the price immediately went up by 100%.

You guys need to order from friends or family in the US. Shipping is cheap.

Haven't got any friends...johnallg wrote:You guys need to order from friends or family in the US. Shipping is cheap.
Joking aside, this is exactly what I do, if I can't find a decent eBay deal. Talking of winch, there is a complete 4003 bridge pickup assembly on eBay at the moment, for $125. The seller has asked for $100 for shipping, well knowing the inflated UK prices!

Rickysounds is NOT an authorized dealer and buys every thing gray market from other dealers at retail, less any discounts he can wrangle. As such, he has to charge more than everyone else.vulcan_creedler wrote: I only wish that we got the same deals in the UK!!! Precisely the reason I don't buy from Rickysounds, unless I can help it as the prices are just way to steep. I did get my first HB1 there, and that was only £82. From memory, at the time, somebody else was selling them (in Ireland?) at a good price, so there was a mini price war going on!johnhall wrote: Rickysounds is NOT an authorized dealer and buys every thing gray market from other dealers at retail, less any discounts he can wrangle. I do use Rossetti whenever possible, (pots, screws, jack wiring looms, pickguards, tuners, control knobs etc) as Shelly gives exceptionally good service.
Back to the Higains, I think everybody else in the UK is out of stock, so no surprises that the Rickysounds price is way inflated!
