Blues on a Rick 12? Yep!

Post by guitman »

Here's a jam in Kyoto back in 1995 with some Japanese musicians. I'm playing my Rick 450-12 and singing.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out and defiantly shouting, "WOW, what a ride !" - Sprung

doesn't sound too far fetched to me. Leadbelly played a 12string quite a bit... but I don't thing Rickenbacker had one to offer at that time

Sure enough. Leadbelly wasn't the only 12 string picker playing the blues. There was also Blind Willie McTell.

I've played my former 360 (w/HBs) and 360/12 CW at a blues jam or two.

In fact, a third Rickenbacker was at same blues jam where the picture above was taken.

Any guitar can be used for any kind of music! Your clip sounds great!

I've got some tracks of a local blues guitar player playing my RIC 12 live, I'll see if I can post them over the next couple days if I can find them.
