does anyone know why frank allen changed his surname?

Frank's full name is Francis Renaud McNiece.

Yes, Frank was using the "Allen" surname when he was playing with Cliff Bennett & The rebel Rousers", before he joined The Searchers. I have no idea why he changed his name though.
