More expensive than all the other 330/12's.
Why, when it's just a standard colour?

Agreed. Little wonder that I source my Rics elsewhere.fireglo67 wrote:More expensive than all the other 330/12's.

Santa visits only once a year, but Santa Ana delivers Rics all year round.

UK customers getting shafted once again.
Re: 330/12 Rubys
Many owners have had the Ruby finish on their wish list for years. It is nice to see that this great finish is available once again. We can be sure that great used models will also surface in time. I look foward to that opportunity. In the meantime the Ruby is in my dreams.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

There has been one listed in the Marketplace for several months:admin wrote:Many owners have had the Ruby finish on their wish list for years. Here in the UK we're pretty used to Ric dealers trying to pull a fast one.admin wrote:Many owners have had the Ruby finish on their wish list for years. Everything from telling blatant lies, to unreasonable price hikes, to 3rd hand defective Rics being sold as 'new B stock'. We've seen and heard it all.
I just feel sorry for the punters who don't know any better who end up buying from these crooks.
It will be interesting to see if the new European distributors have any impact on the UK market, and hopefully they will, but If Rickenbacker really wants to improve it's market share and image in Europe, it really needs to look at some of the retailers with Rickenbacker dealerships in the UK as well.

Yes, £100 more expensive than all the other 330/12's.Ontario_RIC_fan wrote:Some pics of the one at Sound Effects...

Maybe red paint is heavier and it costs more to ship from Rosetti's?
In the interest of disparity, If Guitar Guitar have (or can get hold of) the stock they will always match, or even beat any other price being advertised by other Ric dealers.
They also offer the best after sales customer service of any Ric dealer in the UK bar none.

Re: 330/12 Rubys
I disagree for several reasons:
1. All other standard colours are on the market since years, new and used. That is creating the prices, too. New products, even the standard ones, cost always more when they are brand-new. E.g. go into the market for an new iPhone, a new VOX amp or whatever and compare the prices during some months. Then You know what I mean.
2. Soundaffects has very low prices compared to other dealers. If someone does not want to spend 100£ more, buy in Germany from Thomann. Then You pay 300£ more - (based on the 330/6). And be happy: all 330/6 cost the same 300£ more here, compared to the Soundaffects "old standard colour" prices. Unfortunately there is no 330/12 ruby at Thomann at all...
But Thomann has different prices for different colours, too. Watch the 360 series.
3. I bet if the introduction price is equal to the others someone will do the same what happened to the pearl white LEs: The market is empty the moment they appear - and after a few days You can buy them via the bay or elsewhere - without warranty then but up to 200£ higher or more.
Oh, talking about the pearl white:

Oops! Weren't You the seller, eh?! 500£ profit - embarrassing!
- But a dealer has to be an altruist...
4. I bought several things from Soundaffects over the last years. Two Rickenbackers (370/12MID) had paint issues after a few weeks.(No fault of the dealer, BTW!) - Solved by outstanding great, fast and friendly service. An amp I bought from them had a dead circuit after 10 weeks. Solved again by a great, fast and friendly service. So there are good UK dealers.
To be a satisfied customer someone must be "satisfyable".
5. The mix of defiant frustration about free market mechanisms and senteces like "Here in the UK we're pretty used to Ric dealers trying to pull a fast one. Everything from telling blatant lies, to unreasonable price hikes, to 3rd hand defective Rics being sold as 'new B stock'. We've seen and heard it all." while referring to a particular dealer in this thread would be reason enough for me to delete the whole thread if I were a mod/ admin here.
Here You beat the wrong one. IMHO, the wrongest possible.
I'd prefer Peter's way: If You want the same price or even a lower price (for a used one) - wait a minute!
Just my 0,02€...

Sascha, well said! Hans will be happy you send people to him.
Demand drives prices, and I can't blame them for asking more for a colour that's new and wanted.
