Damn - why can't they spray the current FG like the one in that auction!? It looks so much nicer IMO. Oh well, I hate the modern baseball bat necks anyway...

I have pics of new 4003 and the 71 360. I think you wanted pics to compare fireglows. I would like to share my pics here also.

Post them here then, over on "pics of your Ric" thread !!!

I still think an all Fireglo thread would look neat so we could see the style and pattern over the years ...

The problem with Fireglow (or any burst for that matter) is that it doesn't photograph well most of the time. It almost always looks better in person. Still, it is interesting to see the differences in the spray patterns. When Montezuma Brown was introduced, I didn't like the way the spray was on the sample, but later versions look better to me. Of course, I'm still waiting for my own order (a 360/12MB) to be delivered.

I agree Jeff. I just got an email from Mr Hall, pointing out that Fireglo is one of the most difficult finishes to capture with any accuracy.

I think it also changes with age. If you look at the older finishes, they are so much deeper than the ones today. Maybe the yellowing gives it another dimension of color?

Jim, I really like your idea about an all FG picture thread. I've been looking to buy a 4001 or 4003 but am really particular on the FG finish color. I won't buy one until I have that perfect color (IMO)! Like a black eyed pea once said "Let's get it Started"
