Thanks, guys! And yes, Paul. You got it!
(Glad somebody caught the 'City Of Live" bit!)

the still from the video right before "impact"
Looks like the contact was between the mic clip and the nut. Very glad it didn't actually strike the headstock.

I love the manic goofing on the Sound Chaser riff.

WOW Mark!!!! I was blown away by your performance!!!! I SURE hope Chris sees your tribute...if he hasn't already.
What year is the 4001 MG???? '68 maybe?? I LOVE the sound you got out of it!!! Were you playing mainly through the Bridge pup??
You really nailed Chris's sound/tone.
GREAT tribute!!!!!!!!!!

Re: A Chris Squire tribute
Thanks, Greg! Yep, a '68 exactly! Both pickups were full-on, and they're a great balance output-wise - I'd say close enough to 50-50 to my ear. The horsey got a little weak a few years ago, but a recharge solved that.
Yeah - it would be interesting to know if Squire sees this. I hope so, too. I posted it on both his FB page and the Yes FB page.

Re: A Chris Squire tribute
GREAT way to start the day, and in my usual BELATED style too!
I hope Chris got a chance to see it too!
And, me THREE, that mike!!! EXACTLY why I don't use them!
As I tell the band when I'm asked to sing, I only sing solo..............SO LOW nobody can hear me! Ta-dam-pum!
Excellent Mark, thanks for sharing it!

Pure freaking genius Mark. For those of you not familiar with his own stuff.. do yourself a favour and check it out. MW is a regular on my ipod. One seriously talented chap!!
Re: A Chris Squire tribute
Mark, I'm kinda curious too, but some of my local pals that I shared this with had a good question concerning the sound. Which is, by the way, THE sound...
It's so very close to early Chris that it's scary. Could you share what the amplification, or the signal chain, is? Aside from the bass itself, and your touch and technique, which are huge factors, we'd love to have an idea of how you get so close to "the sound"... If you don't want to share, that's understandable too!
