381/12V69 MG on the wall...

Post by bdawson7 »

at a local shop today. The first of these models I've ever seen & touched & played! It is lovely, and its at a store near Boston: South Shore Music, Weymouth, MA. : http://www.justplaymusic.com/ (not listed on their site though.(why not?) )

He said they just got it in the past week, and had waited for 5 years, which I could only assume is just when they started to think about placing an order, and also an exaggeration.

They also had, IIRC, a 330/12 FG, 360/12 Ruby, 330/6 FG , 360/6 JG + a MG with a fantastic fingerboard.
The FG on these were really fantastic – getting really deep-dark-red at the edges, almost red-brown, and coming in to an almost AmberFG center, not white or pink at all.

Alas, no camera on me! :?

Not entirely un-possible with a model such as this.

I tried to show the awesome flame, but it was sort of dark in the store; flash was a little much...

They are rare.
I Had the chance to stand really close in front of a jetglo 381 in Paris some years ago.
Very impressive instrument.
But i didn't have the right to touch it.
Surely for the vendor i wasn't the kind who could afford to buy it. :)
