I'm alright with death, just as long as I'm not there when it happens.

So, I couldn't decide - I bought a set of ghs Boomers, TI Flats and RotoSound Swing Bass 66. I figured that'd let me put of the decision another couple hours.

I was going to put GHS Boomers on, because I thought the tension would be lower than the new Ric strings.

But, upon further review the G string is the same gauge, D and A are .5" larger and the E is a 100 instead of a 105. I can't imagine there's really any significant different between them?!

Actually, the D on the Boomers is a 65 instead of the Ric 55!

I have GHS Boomers on my 77' Jetglo....... Actually have always used those on that bass. They sound great and the Red silk looks cool with the JG on the headstock.....

Congrats on the new bass! Love that color.

I have had Roto SS roundwounds on my '77 for 30+ years, and my tail lift is the same as yours and has not changed ever. Good luck and enjoy that bad boy!
