Thanks for the kind comments guys!

Really love his how these play - really smooth. Cranked it up through the rig, sounded fantastic. It's so deep, really powerful pups.

Such a shame these are still so rarely seen....great basses!

So, how many 4004s are there in the UK? Can't be too many from what I've read.

From what I've researched, barely any for sale anyway! One stockist has a 2008 Cii priced at £2299 - $3495.....

The JG came up at a price too good to resist - and hell, it's a JG! :D

They are very hard to find over here - I should have kept the first one TBH. Quick scan turned up 6 or 7 for sale, most priced waaay high.

I looked around at the US shops, and they do seem a lot more readily available than here. Funny thing is a few years ago, even the 4003's were in short supply. They are now much more available - but the 4004's just never turn up, even on Ebay UK.

I think it's been discussed at length before, but it's quite amazing for an instrument that's been around since the early '90s, that the 4004's still seem a little mysterious. We all know Lemmy's got his sig model, and now Paul Weller's bassman has a couple....a few more of those and who knows?

I'll be gigging mine tomorrow night, so it's going to get it's first public airing then!

As has been said many times before - the 4004's are one of the best kept secrets in all of Ric-dom. Let us know how the gig goes.

Quite a few have been shipping into the U.K. recently. I think they'll be much more visible in stores there in the future.

They are also included in the display at the Frankfurt Musik Messe coming up in April which will probably spread the word a bit farther as well.
