BULLET CABLE SLUGS
Just took the plunge and got 2 Bullet Cable Slug connector kits for my pedalboard. 20 connections, all of the worked the 1st time, and just gigged with them. Less noise, custom cut by you lengths, and it was as easy as the 23 second video on how to make them. Win for me, owner of 6 fingers and four thumbs, and I could still do it.

Re: BULLET CABLE SLUGS
I did the exact same thing about a month ago.
Replaced all my George L's that were starting to show signs of going bad.
Worked like a charm.

Re: BULLET CABLE SLUGS
Pic of your board?
Re: BULLET CABLE SLUGS
Every time I try to upload a picture, it doesn't work for some reason or other.

Here's a photo Mike took of his board:

The waiting has paid off! Cool board, Snowman.

Re: BULLET CABLE SLUGS
Thanks Ron-will post what all this stuff is and how I use it later today.
Re: BULLET CABLE SLUGS
I needed a board that works equally well for a Rickenbacker 330 with toasters through a Vox AC-30 with Blues, and a Les Paul Custom with Bill Lawrence L90 blade humbuckers through a 1974 Hiwatt DR504 head through an Avatar 212 loaded with Eminences Swamp Thing and Tonker speakers. After numerous attempts at this, I have finally found a solution that lets me get all the sounds I need be it a heavy rock gig to a Beatles cover at forum jam.libratune wrote:Here's a photo Mike took of his board:
without further delay, here's the tour:
Guitar to STUD-a Klon clone that has a little better overdrive in it than any other clone, and the original IMO, I've tried. I can't speak higher of the build quality, or the guy who hand makes them-Richard at Monsterpiece. Exceptional customer service, less than 2 weeks to your door with choice of colors and choice of having the buffer on or off when pedal is off. Mine has no buffer in bypass mode. Anyways, I use this to balance the input of my guitars pickups, as the Bill Lawrences are very high output and the Toasters are low. Pedal sweetens the sound, volume and tone controls are basically serving as a "master overall tone and volume" for the pedalboard.
Next the signal goes to a Korg Pitchblack tuner that mutes when engaged. Rig killswitch and tuning all in one stomp-nice. True bypass, as the STUD is always on to provide any buffering needed.
Next up is the first of two Amptweaker Tightrock pedals. Two you say? Yes, two. The Tightrock is a distortion pedal loaded with features best explained in full detail on their website. All Amptweaker pedals are handmade by James Brown of Peavey and Kustom fame, and are built like a tank. The Tightrock has both an effects loop on the top so you can add effects you would like to add to the sound when you turn the pedal on(pre or post pedal selectable). The Tightrock also has a sidechain, which turns on whatever you plug into that on when you turn the pedal off-like a built in A/B box. I have the second Tightboost sidechained off of the first with a Wampler Faux Tape Echo plugged into the loop. So basically, I can toggle between the 1st and second Tightrocks with 1 pedal button. So, rhythm sound out of #1, and lead sound with delay on #2.
In the sidechain of #2 is a Crowther Hotcake, perfect for chimey overdrive through through heavy almost fuzz like distortion.
Re: BULLET CABLE SLUGS
page freeze-continuing now
Ok, Hotcake in sidechain of Tightrock #2 gives me 3 drives on tap and a clean sound when all bupassed. Tightrock #2 output goes back into the sidechain of Tightrock#1.
Next, the Amptweaker Swirpool, an all analog Tremelo and vibe unit that sports both a master loop, and one for just channel 2 of the pedal. In channel 2 of the pedal I have an Earthquaker Devices Diapatch Master-both reverb and delay in 1 pedal-to sweeten up 1 channel of the Swirlpool. This way, I can have any combination of the effects with just hitting one pedal.
While all of this sounds complicated, it really is very easy and minimal to use live, thanks to all the switching options built into the Amptweaker pedals. No more need for loop bypass pedels, and everything not coming through the amp has the signal bypassed from it so there is minimal, if any, signal loss.
There it is

I can't even quote a pic and have it come through

Re: BULLET CABLE SLUGS
Oh, and board is a Pedaltrain PT-1 with a Voodoo Labs PP2+ power supply. All Ampteaker Pedals and Hotcake at 18 volts and wired up with Bullet Cables Slug kits.
Re: BULLET CABLE SLUGS
And the Altoids mini tin is perfect for holding picks!
