bridge pickup cover circa 1985
Hello RIC fans, I have a question for you. My 1985 4003 is the type with the split pickguard, in case it matters. Anyway, I've always run with the pickup cover off, but probably not for the same reason as everyone else. When my bass arrived, one of the mounting tabs was broken off, so it was actually only secured on the bottom side, near the G string. I removed it because if I rested on it, or even bumped it when I played, it would of course push down on the bass side and choke out my E string. I've just run without it all these years, but lately I'm thinking I would really like to have the pickup cover back on. I see they sell them at the RIC website for $20, but does anyone know if this latest version will fit my 1985 4003? I'd hate to buy it and have it not fit. Better still, if anyone wants to sell their pickup cover from a 1985 or so era bass, let me know! Thanks gang, I know I don't post much, but I read the forum here all the time and truly enjoy it, and I learn a lot too!

I don't know for sure, but i would imagine the current ones will still fit on your bass. Someone who DOES know please chime in....

I recently ordered one from the RIC Boutique for my '89 4003, which did not have one with it when I got it used, and the current one fits fine.
