NGD !!! 360v64…

Post by Colonel Blues »

Hi ! So happy and proud to open this thread because of…

THIS !!
(the pics are from the site of the shop where I scored it… thanks to Guitare Village !)

I had to swap my 330JG to be able to afford it, but I don't regret one minute !
This jewel is really nice to play, it has a great sound, I already LOVE it !!! 8) 8) 8)

By the way, I have some questions, may I ? :
- before I restrung it, the 6 end balls of the strings were upon the trapeze tailpiece (see pic #3), and when I restrung, I put them under, to hide those end balls, am I wrong ?
I think it looks cleaner this way and the tailpiece is in quite the same angle…

- they told me this guitar was from 1995, does the serial # ( H8 on one side of the plate, 6434 on the other side) says anything about that ?

Thanks for any answer to help me ! :D

Nice and congratulations!

That is my favorite model, I would love to find one in Jetglo. Looks like some cool "flame" on the headstock too.

I believe 6 string 360v64's are less common than the 12 string models and it looks like you got a good one there.

Congratulations! 8) TRES MAGNIFIQUE!! :)

Your serial # dates it to August of 1995, when put into the RIC decoder.
Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

Congratulations Thierry, lucky man !
For the way to string correctly with the trapeze, i'm sure someone will answer your question.
Maybe you could ask it in the vibrola section.
Or you can try to look at some pictures in the register.

Ball ends should be visible from the front of the guitar.

Nice guitar! I have one in Turquoise, and it's a really great guitar. And what a nice color--it would be a nice color to bring back, along with Amber Fire-glo and Burgundy-glo.

I'm not sure it really matters which side the strings go through the trapeze, as long as they're not touching the wood of the guitar. I've seen pictures of them both ways. Having the ball-ends on the outside would probably make it easier to restring.

When you do change the strings, I recommend that you change them one at a time. That will keep even tension on the bridge so it won't fall off while you're putting the new strings on.

Thanks Clifton !
As it is at this moment, I just had to bend the strings a little bit to get them through the trapeze, not a real problem, and I still think it looks better this way… 8)
And yes, not any part is touching the wood, so… May be I'll keep on doing that way, who knows ?
