360/12 Question!

Post by CarlWilson »

Just a random thought.. What kind of adjusting, if any, would I need to do to my ric if I were to take the octave strings off and just leave the usual 6 on? :o

Taking off the octave strings significantly decreases the string tension and you would very likely have to loosen the truss rods to compensate. Since your guitar is modern this isn't all that hard to do (older guitars use a different truss rod set up that I understand is trickier to adjust without doing damage). You also might get some rattling from the unused octave keywinds.
