Big Brown Truck

Post by kiramdear »

My holy grail is due to arrive on Monday. It's a 1957 model 1000 tulip which is the spitting image of my very first rick that I bought when I was sixteen, for $75. This one has cost me considerably more but, hey, it's only money. A small price to pay for buying back a beloved piece of my youth, I guess. I still remember how much fun that little guitar was to play.

So cross your fingers for me for a happy landing. Pics will be posted on arrival. :)

Kira, think about switching the black rubber "bridge" with a regular Ric adjustable bridge. :D

Thanks, John. The voice of experience?

I've actually got one, so I may just do that. :)

Well, yes. Its kind of a kiddie guitar until you switch the original bridge. Use heavy gauge strings (ala 325). Will make a huge difference. :P

I love the little black bridges on those!!! esp with the two bumps to seat it in the metal assembly. They're nifty!
