I'm restoring the rare trans green Starfire bass for a customer who is primarily a Rick player but loved the sounds of hollow bodied basses. The Starfire has a Hagstrom pickup and harness and impedance-matching circuitry (at least that's what it looks like!) in the pup cavity.

This one had 5 full days on the Tone-Rite. The sound opened up appreciably. I was a skeptic and asked for a money-back on it for 30 days. It has proven itself. $200 well-spent!

My cousin just to pick-up the guitar in SF for bring me to Spain. I can't wait to see it and play it. Paul says sounds great!

Jesus, that's a real beauty and as an owner of of a 730L-12 by PW, I can guarantee you'll love this guitar. Thanks for the Tone-Rite test, Paul. I've been looking at one of those.

The hot tip with Tone Rites, Tim, based upon my last year plus with mine, is to hang the guitar from a wall hanger so no part of the body is touching anything. Install the TR centered in the sound hole; move it about 1/2" closer to the bridge every 24 hours. It should end up doing 48 constant hours in the last position, which sees the body of the TR about 3/4" north of the bridge itself. 96 hours total for a minimum first treatment. Variable control on full to open it up quickly.

The difference between before and after following the treatment was noticeable on this instrument. Lots of the tightness was gone, the bass range was strong, and nothing was flabby-sounding.

It's supposed to open up an acoustic guitar's tone faster than just playing it would. I think the guys at Colfax Guitar Shop like it too, if memory serves.

Can't imagine it doing anything worthwhile for a solid-bodied anything, although the manufacturers claim otherwise. Next test will be on my factory prototype Fender Jag. I'm using both ears and oscilloscope and checking things out a one-week intervals. Stay tuned for results.

I've read several reports from talented people all saying they love it, but i'm still skeptical. I suppse i'm too cynical to take things at face value. I can't help but wonder if its the placebo effect at work.

Makes sense to me. It's just like exercising those "muscles" in the wood.

Uff the guitar is in my home now. My cousin goes for it to SF and Paul gave him in hand. After that the second part was bring it to Spain in the cabin of the airplane. The travel SF-Philadelphia was in the car-babys cabin but Philadelphia-Madrid my cousin Albert has no problem to carry with him inside the plane. In the other hand the guitar passed the arms and drugs test with a kind of paper ? in the airport...Uff
The guitar is infinitely pretty, the pics not to do it justice, the top is white in contrast with the deep wine back and sides, and the guitar smells like just to do it.

The guitar sounds fantastic, if you play soft is sweet like honey but I'm very surprise when you play hard because is like a beast!

I'll try to play tomorow I need to know it like a girlfriend, you know, to know her is to love her....
