It has a tube preamp section with a pair of 12AX7s that give me the Marshall tone, basically.
Have you ever tried this preamp?

I recorded with a JMP1 for years and only recently sold it. Great preamp. Interestingly I recently forgot my amp (yeah, I know!) at rehearsal and ended up using a friend's solid state Marshall guitar combo - although the speaker wasn't up to it the basic voicing was very Squire, much more so than most of the bass amps I've used.

Great vid by the way Mark and stellar tone.

Mark, Do you think you could do the same for me on my birthday? I tribute to my finest basslines?

What's this? A blank tape? very funny!!!

Nice job though nailing the tone as they say
