Noise and Intermittent Volume Issues

Post by kevro2000 »

Hi, Everyone:
My 2003 381/6 has an annoying issue. Neck p/u worx fine. The bridge p/u is making some noise and at full volume, the instrument can barely be heard. AFter a few minutes of playing, or longer, the vol. will suddenly come on. Messing with the knob after that, resets it back to not working again.

Is this something I can fix myself? Perhaps do a little cleaning - If I can figure out how to access the controls?

Thanks,
Kevin

Check everything BUT the guitar first -- power supply, amp, cords, pedals, etc. Make sure the problem is isolated to the guitar.

If there's nothing wrong with the rest of your rig, I'd guess maybe a bad pot or a jack that needs to be bent back into shape. You're plugged into the standard output, not Rick-O-Sound?

Thanks, Dan.. I had already checked everything you mentioned, except to make sure the plug was plugged into the standard jack. I have just verified that it is in the STANDARD.
