I went through a bunch of amps last year before I found one that sounds good to me all the time, all different types of music and with 3 different bass's.

GK MB112-II 200 watts and very loud for 200 watts.

I got the MBP-112 powered cab to go with it a few weeks later and now I have 400 watts. Really nice sounding amp and made here is the US.

I had a succession of TE 1x15 combos before moving away a couple of years back.....the new ones didn't really cut itsoundwise for me, plus I had had enough of trying to man handle a 35kg lump into a hatchback. After a bit of swapping and changing I've gone down the MarkBass route with a Barefaced compact cab. The pairing of Little Mark 3 and this cab works well in big and small venue situations; the BF compact isn't the brightest of cabs - it works well with my MM, Status and Rick but not so good with the precision but if that worries you try the compact with the HF unit. This set up is lightweight and amazingly portable for a 15" cab set up.

That's the path I've decided to follow. I found humping a heavy TE combo too much for my back these days so went with a Markbass 2x10 +horn and bass port cab, with a Momark modular 500 watt amp. I have to say I'm very pleased with the combination of the Markbass amp/cab and my Rickenbackers. One other advantage of the Momark system is that whenever I take both fretted and fretless Ricks with me to gigs, I can swap the hi-end modules for dedicated twin-channels modules, allowing me to set up different sounds for each bass. Perfect! :)

You are the first person I have read about owning the Momark system, very cool idea that they came up with (to make more money from selling modules  ). Just kidding! 8)

To be honest, I was amazed with the degree of bass power and punch from a pair of 10's in the cab. The amp is certainly the most flexible I've come across, and it sounds great too - particularly with my Ricks. I guess I'd just stuck with TE for so long (since 1983) I'd failed to check out the newer competition.
