That's cool Mark, I can see where Geddy got his inspiration for his stage set.

Re: A Tweak to Far
My '74 has a very similar repaired crack. Dunno exactly when it was damaged & who repaired it & when, but it hasn't budged since I bought it in 1986, and it's been through hell & back with me. I'm always scared it'll separate again...
Good luck with the repair sir.

I haven't updated this and I wanted to share the pics I took at Mouradian Guitar. Jim Mouradian is fantastic to talk to, we got into a discussion of free span, and trussrods, why a Ric sounds like a Ric, Chris Squire and his influences, and even wood working on the schooner. He set my mind at ease about the break and went so far as to offer an explanation as to why and a cure or at least make it so it wont happen from that cause again. He figured the upper rods popped up from where they "dig into the aluminum block. I was there for 3 hours and could've stayed all day.
The guitars and basses on the walls are used and for sale even the sitar. I ended up with him making the repair to my baby and I waked out of the shop buying a Fender Kingman Acoustic bass.

Thanks for the photos of one of my favorite places on the planet, Ted!
You (and your bass) are in the best of hands with Jim and Jon Mouradian.

The Rics in the pic were reasonably priced I don't remember exactly but my impression was, at or below market. I was drooling way too much!

I find Mouradian's prices to be very reasonable. I think the WHT 4001 is in the mid-to-high teens, and includes a set-up. Not sure about the MID.

Re: A Tweak to Far
I got my '74 4001 back from Mouradian Guitar yesterday! The job done by Jim is just amazing, his craftsmanship, attention to detail, and his love of Rickenbacker basses just blows me away. I thought the bass was the most wonderful thing I've played before, well after his handy work, it's in another realm. The bass is more smooth, even, and effortless to play than ever. On his invoice he wrote what was to be done and in finishing that list he included "Give it Love" and he certainly did. He has earned his reputation and my gratitude and admiration. I wanted to thank Larry and Matt with their help and advice, I couldn't have been in better hands.

Great to hear it worked out, Ted!
Congrats on having it back, and back in fine form.
I can't think of a word to describe the passion and quality of Jim and Jon Mouradian's work . . . so I'll have to go with WICKED PISSAH!
