Hey, guys. It's been a while since I've had a chance to be around much. I just wanted to say thanks to each and every one of you who has posted responses to my questions in particular and to all of you who share your considerable knowledge in general. I posted a question at another forum asking for information on another one of my basses by another manufacturer. I was just looking for some general information on dating it and the value of it when it was on the market...maybe what another comparably valued bass would be that is currently being manufactured...just general info about the bass. I love it. It's a really nice bass. I just was looking for some info on it. I posted a question on a forum for that manufacturer about 12 days ago. I included pics and descriptions. I have received exactly 0 replies...not even an "I've never seen one of those before..." Not that that should be the case. I don't think it's THAT out of the ordinary...just that it hasn't been made since the mid 80's. Anyway, my experience there just made me realize what a fantastic source of information and support you guys really are. I wanted to say thanks to all of you for being such a fantastic repository of help and information! My hat is off to you guys! Thanks!

Why not try posting the same questions in the "Low End" section. There are many here that are as savvy with other brands as they are with Ricks.

Thanks...I got some good responses on Talk Bass. I wasn't so much ranting about what happened over there as I was saying thanks to you guys for all the help you've offered me and others in the past. You guys always amaze me with your insight.

I'm not just saying this because I'm a member here but this IS one of the best forums I belong to. I just cancelled my subscription to the TB forum over an issue I had there. I dislike the mob rules mentality there that seems to creep into nearly every thread and spoil the potential for meaningful exchange of info. The mod. staff sits on their collective hands and allows it to happen. Shameful!

Now this is the only music forum I belong to, and I'm happy about that!

Thanks, Javier! 8) Sometimes posts here don't get answered immediately but we are, overall, a friendly, helpful bunch of people, here. :)

I agree with all the above, I have a Rick bass which I was pretty ignorant about and asked some dumb questions, but everybody has been great and I've learnt a lot. My bass is even in Paul B's new book, just as a result of being involved in this forum.

There is no better place to be than right here...or you'd be there!
