My first, the '04 4003JA = http://www.rickresource.com/register/vi ... ine%3Dtrue
Next to last would be the '75 4001.

My '74 4000. It's was stripped of its FG finish and sanded to death by a previous owner, wears chunky replacement tuners, has had new rods fabricated for it, and is generally beat to hell, but it is brilliant, and was my first "name" bass.
The '72/3 4001 restoration bass runs a close second....

That would have to be my '67 RM / S. It's the most comfortable bass I've ever had. I'm still experimenting with strings and tones / wiring, but it's certainly got "It" for me.
Re: Multi Rick owners, which is the last bass you would let
That one is easy. The Ric I'd last let go (actually wouldn't let go) is my jetglo 4001S pictured in my avatar. I bought it new in 1984 when I was just about to turn 22. I am 51 now. Around five years ago, I went on an ebay Ric bass buying frenzy and added three more to give me four total now, but I'd part with all three of them first. The mapleglo 4001S (also a 1982 build year) would be the 2nd to last to go though...

Even with its unique and odd features (and questioned pedigree), my 1970 4001 WHT.
Thank you to JH for confirming its authenticity, and to the Pauls (W & B) for their expertise and assistance.

It would be a toss up between my Rm1999 (dk564) and the 81 4008... Indeed they are the only two that I have...

Wow. How cool is that????
Mine would me my Fireglo Feb '72. It's seen off competition from numerous other Rics, Alembics, Wals etc etc. It's like an old pair of slippers and I love it to bits.
Re: Multi Rick owners, which is the last bass you would let
My '76 4001. If there was a fire at my house, I'd grab my daughter and my 4001 and call my wife from outside. Joking. Mostly.
My '76 has the best action of any bass I own and after 36 years, my fingers know where to go. It has great tone. Besides, I bought it with paper route money.
I like it a lot more than my '99 V63 or my '89 Blackstar. I hate to admit I'm falling out of love with those two.

Re: Multi Rick owners, which is the last bass you would let
Well, there are three that I cannot ever part with and will be passed on to my two kids.
1) My first and best sounding 74 4001 with toaster neck and Bartolini bridge pickup. Lowest action and pure 60's Rick tone strung with Pyramids.
2) My 1984 (1st year) 4001V63 FG Don't know of anyone else that has a firts run V63. The neck is round and so authentic and the tone with Pyramids is dead on.
#) I have a 4003SB (prototype V63 (1983) which is rare and very special. i actually sold it in the 90's and 10 years later it shows up at a Daddy's in MA where a worker knew me. The guy selling it said that he bought it from the bass player in the band Class of 66 (me). the worker called me right away and I re-bought it......... It was under the guys bed and in the same condition................ sounds awesome also.... should I go on?

Re: Multi Rick owners, which is the last bass you would let
Sorry about some of my typo's. I have to say that the 84 V63 horshoe pickup was SO HOT that I replaced it with an 80's hi-gain bridge pickup that gave me the Wings tone. It has a very unique fireglo color. Nothing like today fireglo and quite different from the later years V63 FG.
