Can someone provide me a link or instructions on how to perform the mod to remove the cap on the bridge pickup on my 74 4001?
My apologies in advance if this is a common topic. I did not do an extensive search.
Thanks

It's very easy to do. All that is really needed to be done is to place a piece of wire on to the two leads coming off the smallest (physically) capacitor. Soldering the wire on is best but as long as you can tightly wrap the wire around the leads it will be fine. What you are doing, essentially, is shorting the capacitor out (bypassing it) with the signal now going through the wire instead of the capacitor.
Here is a photo of my former 'July '73 4001 with the cap bypassed with a red wire:
As you can see, the wire is placed across the cap and attached to each lead coming out of it.
I hope this helps.

Yup! Leave the the smallest (.0047) cap in place, assuming it's still there, and just lay a small wire wire right over it and lightly tack it to the same two contact points with a quick dab of hot solder. Done!

Thanks guys! And great reference pic Jeff!

The photo could have been at a different angle to show the wiring better but that is all I have available.
