Re: Calling Customer Service tomorrow...
There have been some major increases in shipping rates in the past few years from the usual suspects so that sounds about right if you used a store instead of a company owned drop-off location.nukebass wrote:Well, it wound up being $63.35, but it is on its way!!!
Re: Calling Customer Service tomorrow...
It was a FedEx store, but it was cheaper than last time, so that is good. One thing I will say, though, is that it is hard to determine which FedEx locations are FedEx or somebody else because the website doesn't do a very good job, at least when I looked quickly the other day, of discerning them.
Re: Calling Customer Service tomorrow...
I don't understand how they can quote one rate on their website but then charge another in the store, no matter whether franchise or corporate. Seems a bit of a bait and switch to me, unless there's some fine print somewhere.
Re: Calling Customer Service tomorrow...
My father went and dropped it off at the store since I was busy and the receipt isn't too detailed. I'm not sure if it is fuel charges and taxes or random fees that increase it from the website value.

And that's why I ship instruments via USPS insured with tracking for around $20.00 less.johnhall wrote:I don't understand how they can quote one rate on their website but then charge another in the store, no matter whether franchise or corporate. And all the savings from those shipments will be wiped out the first time you have to deal with them on a loss or damage claim. You've heard that from someone who's shipped at least 50,000 packages with each.aceonbass wrote:And that's why I ship instruments via USPS insured with tracking for around $20.00 less.
