Is there a non-USA guitar with Gibson or Martin on the headstock? (Orville by Gibson, Sigma by Martin are different brands...)
Martin currently makes guitars in Mexico with the Martin Headstock and name. Gibson made some acoustics (I think in the eighties) in Japan between the closing of Kalamazoo and the purchase of Flatiron.

That's pretty special, certainly compared to:

Rednef
Nosbig
Nitram
Rolyat

Now, somebody come up with one good sentence that uses those four words!

They've all got loads of look-alike copies being made in China and other places, because they didn't assiduously defend their design patents.

(Okay, maybe Taylor isn't in that boat yet.)

They know how to spray more than a handful of colors onto their guitars.

They offer new products

They have modern looking websites (2nd that)

So...

Why is it so hard to make more colors?
Why aren't there ever new products?
Can't they get a high school student to create a new website?

These are rhetorical questions. They seem to be a manufacturer that leaves it up to it's dealers to market their guitars. Creative and innovative are not words I would use to describe RIC! I'm not trying to be negative at all. They do what they do very, very well, and not a stitch more. I really do enjoy Mr. Hall's participation here, and that is not something I hear about other companies doing.
