I saw that post and enjoyed looking at your white 4001. In fact, I sent you an e-mail about it.
If you think all is going well, you've obviously overlooked something.

The infamous 72' BG 4001, "Nancy" - as she was named at the RIC factory. Debut 'larger' pics appearance.

That bass is great Mark - one of my favorites here - how is the intonation on this one? I had a 73 and it wouldnt really intonate (was always sharp even with all saddles all the way back)

Intonates real well, Owen. Slips slightly between gigs, but that's normal. Nothing a decent tune-up playing harmonics doesn't fix.

The neck on her is the best I've ever seen + played. She's had Roto 66s on her for years, so obviously a tough 'survivor' considering early 4001 necks weren't meant to be that strong. Straight as an arrow.

Cheers for the compliments! Get some good shots of *your* Burgundy up here. :P

What a gorgeous finish with a character all its own. It really has a great three-dimensional effect and to me looks different each time I feast my eyes on the photo. This is why I prefer finishes that are not solid colour.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

The above are my 2 Ricks, the bass is a 2001 4003 and the other is my 1971 360 (slanted frets) thanks for the opportunity to show off my pride and joys>
