Looking for a stock 325v59 MG

Post by mike_mccue »

Hi again,
I have spent the day searching websites looking for a 325v59 in Maple Glo. I have found a few "lennonized" guitars but really prefer to buy a box stock v59. I was wondering if anyone here is aware of a store that has one in stock.

Thank You,
mike

Try here:
http://www.gruhn.com/

then click:
'inventory'

and after:
'Miscellaneous Hollowbody Electrics'

and finally:
'EX0846 Rickenbacker '58 Reissue 325 Hamburg model
recent, M with papers, polishing cloth, and extra Kauffman style vibrola tailpiece, natural finish, OHC......$1750'

Guitar comes with a Bigsby vibrato, but includes the original Kauffmann as well.

All the best, Marcelo Ravelo

Thanks Marcelo,
I phoned Rhodes (as well as many others) yesterday and they do not have a 325v59 in stock. I also found it strangely curious that Mr Rhodes seemed very taciturn when I began our conversation with the simple phrase "hello". A stark contrast to both Chris at Pick of the Ricks and Mike at Ric Page who were very hospitable and helpful while providing info about the v59s and C58s and offering possible options from what they had in stock.

I am looking at the Gruhn site now. Apparently this is a C58 with a Bigsby upgrade. But they will include the Kaufman. I am also curious about the tuning keys on that model... are the "Sta-Tite" replacements for the Ric vintage style or did open gear tuners come stock on the C58? Is the guitar also missing the top pick guard or is that a stock C58 layout? Bridge cover?

I am really looking for a stock, complete, un modified v59.

Thanks for taking the time to offer some suggestions,

mike

'...are the "Sta-Tite" replacements for the Ric vintage style or did open gear tuners come stock on the v58?'
-Those open back tuners come stock on the C58, and are a Gotoh model (exclusively made for Rickenbacker) called 'Ric-Tite'.

'Is the guitar also missing the top pick guard or is that a stock v58 layout?'
-The top pick guard is not missing at all. V59s came stock with it, but C58s don't.

Regards, Marcelo Ravelo.
