Yes, it's in two different languages, one of which is Spanish:
RICKENBACKER 4080 DOUBLE NECK BAJO GUITARRA DICIEMBRE 1979 BUEN ESTADO P,IEZA DE COLECCION NO SE FABRICA DESDE HACE AÑOS
"Rickenbacker 4080 Double Neck bass guitar December 1979 Good condition piece from collection, has not been manufactured for many years"

The other parts of the text appear to be in Polish.

The 4080 is in Spain, the OP's posting is from the Poland eBay site.

Here is the listing from eBay Spain translated from Spanish to English (but DoctorWho's translation is better than the googlebot and tells everything important, unless you are a serious buyer...)

The starting price of 5800 Euros converts to around US$7850 ... I know that prices for Rickenbackers are generally higher in Europe than in the U.S., but is that a bit high even with that taken in consideration?

Can't say I've every been in the market for a 4080, but a very nice looking 4/12 was recently sold by Olivia's via eBay for $6800.

Another 4/12 sold last month on eBay for $7700.

Two 4/6s recently went on eBay for $5k and $6k. All US sales, I believe.

The shipping alone would be pretty brutal from Europe to US. With the exchange rate, obviously not such a great deal, but doesn't seem like the seller is totally unrealistic, either, especially with a European buyer.

Edit- I see now that the two 4/6s were the same guitar, promptly flipped.

I guess we'll have to wait a few more hours to see if the Spain 4080 sells to figure out what the market really is for it...

Wow. I bought a 4080 back in the mid-late 90's - I think I paid about $1800 for it. It sure did turn heads whenever I pulled it out of the case at gigs, but I never liked the way that it sounded. I think that ended up selling it at a loss. Cool guitar, nonetheless.

I paid £4k GBP for mine just over 5 years ago. I think the prices dipped slightly after that but seem to be gaining again.
Can we have a bit more talent in the monitors please.....?
